Asteroids; A Shocking Experience

Sunset was a beautiful sight in Sunset Valley. Golden purple hues and it would make for the last sunset for some of the denizens of Sunset Valley. I had just discovered the wonderful news that there was a phenomenon known as the orbital resonances with Jupiter's orbital period. That made me gleeful as this phenomenon threw asteroids out with some regularity making the inner solar system a cosmic shooting gallery. With Jupiter tugging on the planet with its enormous gravity but the sun being many times larger exerting a larger though much farther away force on the asteroids, it was like a tug-of-war and eventually the orbit gets so perturbed that it gets thrown into a solar orbit rather than an orbit around Jupiter: this pretty much may align the orbit with a planet also orbiting around the sun causing the potential for a collision. And it just so happened that there would be asteroids impacting the Earth very shortly. Usually it takes millions or billions of years for such orbits to be affected but with telekinetic powers...all it takes is a slight magical tug...in the right direction.

I was a bit too busy baiting Good_Haruo to really notice that my little spell had deviated about 20 asteroids from their planetary orbit around Jupiter towards earth. Not big enough asteroids to cause world-wide devastation, but big enough to make significant impacts and maybe cause a few casualties.

It was about 9:30PM when the first asteroid hit.

I decided to go steal a car...while the citizens were all ducking for cover.

Holy jumpin' Jeepers Creepers...the sky was calm for a while and then everything just lit up like a fireworks display.

...and all centered on the pool. The pool got clobbered and unfortunately there was a casualty...

It was nice and quiet in the park that morning...

until one...landed right in the center of the park.

It certainly caused a few coward sims to pass out completely.

Not to mention the heat from the asteroids caused no few electrical storms which was accompanied by lightning from the passage of the superheated rock through atmosphere. Watching Sims get shocked was the highlight of my day.

Watching Phil get shocked by a lightning strike was even better.

How shocking... ~smirk~
